Ok, so the theme for April for NaBloPoMo is “big”, and my last few posts haven’t exactly fulfilled that — close, but not so much. I was simply biding my time… (evil grin).
I have this ongoing request list at our local library, which, for the most part, is suspended, simply because I have too many books on the list to deal with. It keeps me at the top of the list for the particular book, should I decide that now is the time I want it. I usually keep the requests suspended quite well…except for once in a while. I forgot to redo the “suspend” request on March 31, thinking it would go through the day instead of expiring on the day. As I said, big mistake.
I dashed to the computer sometime during the day on the 31st, only to find I already had a lot of holds waiting for me at the library and 14 more in transit, which I couldn’t stop. I re-suspended the ones I could, but I still came home in the end with 36 of the 38 books waiting for me (I told you I had a lot of requests).
I think it’s funny, although now I’ll have to try to read them before I can’t renew them any longer. If no one else puts a request on them that isn’t supplied by another library, I’ll have nine weeks to read them all. It’s doable. But I don’t like to do it too often.
